Arraez’s outlook for 2020

As mentioned in the opening slide, there are plenty of reasons to be excited for what Arraez can do in 2020 and beyond. Next season, in particular, will be a huge step forward for Arraez as many believe he’ll be the starting second baseman for the Twins with the expected departure of Jonathan Schoop.

Arraez is a wizard at the plate, but he’ll need to improve his defense at second base if he wants to fully take advantage of being a regular in a major league lineup. There will also be a need to adapt to what pitchers are doing to him in his second full season in the majors, but that hasn’t been a problem at any level with his lowest batting average checking in at .309.

While the Twins may not have a perennial All-Star at second base due to his power, Arraez should still be in the conversation for batting titles and maybe a reserve spot if he continues his rapid rise through the Twins organization.
