Are we on the verge of a Nelson Cruz hot streak?

During the second series of the most recent road trip, the Twins got some great news when Nelson Cruz was activated from the injured list. Getting the 38-year old back in the lineup along with Mitch Garver gave the Twins a completely healthy lineup for the first time this season, but there may have been some concerns that Cruz might need a little time to get back in the swing of things coming off his wrist injury.

Six games since Cruz’s return, it appears that the slugger is back to 100 percent as he tore the cover off the ball in the final four games of the road trip. Cruz homered in all four of those games while going 7-for-17 with 6 RBI and although he struck out six times during that stretch, it appears we could be on the verge of a long hot streak.

If Cruz can get going, the Twins can become an even more potent offense that has seen all nine hitters contribute this season. Mix in the potential revenge game narrative and Cruz may be looking to hit one off Minnie and Paul this weekend to give him his first true hot streak of the season.
