What’s next for the Minnesota Twins after missing out on Craig Kimbrel?

Raisel Iglesias

If you haven’t noticed my focus yet, its power-throwing closing pitchers that could be available come trade season. Raisel Iglesias is another high strikeout pitcher with 39 through 27.2 innings pitched also owning a solid ERA at 2.93.

Another guy that has multiple years of control left at a relatively low-cost could mean a high asking price from the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds also made some big splashes this past off-season and are still in the thick of things in the NL central. Though the tide could turn quickly for the Reds in a stacked division, so far, they seem to be hanging in there.

Even if the asking price may be steep, the Minnesota Twins seem to have a nice window of opportunity opening up for the next few years. Adding a lock down closer to bolster the bullpen during that span could pay handsomely for a team on the verge of greatness.

I’d love to see the Twins make some moves to strengthen their already very strong position atop the AL central. With the clear opportunity to be World Series contenders in 2019, I hope they make a move sooner rather than later. The Minnesota Twins have the minor league depth to get a deal done, no need to wait until the trade deadline to add pieces, I say they pull the trigger now and continue their climb to the top.
