Cleveland Indians 5, Minnesota Twins 7

Sunday’s game can be summed up in three words “Eddie…Eddie…Eddie!” Eddie Rosario with his family in attendance blasted three home runs including the walk-off that secured the Twins victory over the Indians 7-5. Brian Dozier added his own home run as he was 2-for-4 on the day with two runs scored and two RBIs. Kyle Gibson continued to be consistently effective in his starts as he went 5.2 innings and allowed two runs on two hits and two walks with seven strikeouts.

June 4th Probable Starter: Off Day

Rochester Red Wings 3, Norfolk Tides 7

The Red Wings dropped a bullpen game 7-3 with Gabriel Moya getting the start on Sunday. Nick Anderson who had been pitching well as of late gave up six runs over 0.2 innings in the 5th. Jake Cave was 2-for-3  on the day. Nick Gordon, Taylor Motter, and Chris Carter each collected doubles.

June 4th Probable Starter: Off Day

Chattanooga Lookouts 13, Mobile BayBears 5

Lewis Thorpe put together another great start and was backed by some incredible offense as the Lookouts defeated Mobile 13-5. Thorpe tossed 6.0 scoreless innings allowing three hits, two walks, and recording six strikeouts. LaMonte Wade continued to be a spark at the top of the Lookouts lineup as he went 2-for-3 and hit his seventh home run and collected four RBIs. The hitting looks light in the boxscore for a 13 run game. That is because the Lookouts were patient at the plate and walked 12 times putting plenty of runners on base for when the hits did come.

June 4th Probable Starter: Kohl Stewart vs. Mobile BayBears at 6:15 PM CT

More from Puckett's Pond

Fort Myers Miracle 3, St. Lucie Mets 1

Tyler Wells‘ phenomenal start propelled the Miralce to a 3-1 win on Sunday. Wells went 8.0 innings and only allowed one run (a solo shot by Michael Paez) on two hits and a walk and recorded seven strikeouts. Because of that very good start, Fort Myers didn’t need much offense but got a double and an RBI from center fielder Jimmy Kerrigan. Brandon Lopez also added a double and RBI of his own.

June 4th Probable Starter: TBD vs. Palm Beach Cardinals at 6:00 PM CT

Cedar Rapids Kernels 9, Burlington Bees 10

Sundays game saw a lot of offense between the Kernels and Bees with Cedar Rapids falling just short in the run-scoring pace and losing 10-9. Alex Kirilloff continued to be a force in the middle of the Kernels lineup as he launched his 10th Midwest League home run as he went 2-for-5. Jean Carlos Arias was 3-for-4 and scored two runs. Ben Rodriguez put three runs on the board as he went 2-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run.

Next: Who could the Twins draft with pick #20?

Eddie Rosario’s hot streak

In case you have missed it, Eddie Rosario has been on quite the stretch at the plate. For much of 2018, he has been carrying the Twins disappointing offense. As Rosario hit three home runs on Sunday, he became the only Twins player to ever have multiple three home run days. Rosario is now hitting .317/.352/.573 with 13 home runs on the season. In the month of May alone he hit .368/.388/.615 and six home runs. We are witnessing something special and fun with the way Rosario is going right now. Enjoy it!
