Things To Know
Aaron Judge has had one of the most amazing rookie seasons in history. He will certainly be the American League Rookie of the Year and will have a legit argument for Most Valuable Player. The potential MVP has shown the ability to hit with tremendous velocity – of the top 10 exit velocities on home runs this season, Judge owns 7 of them, including the top two.
Luis Severino led starting pitchers in baseball in 2017 with a 97.5 MPH average fastball velocity. Aroldis Chapman averaged 100.0 MPH, which is incredible to AVERAGE triple digits. Dellin Betances, Tommy Kahnle, and Chad Green also average 95+ from the bullpen.
After a hot August seemingly across the board, the Twins lineup had a number of excellent performances in the last month of the season. Jason Castro hit .305/.359/.475 with 3 home runs. Joe Mauer hit .343/.404/.461 with 9 doubles. Brian Dozier continued pounding the ball, hitting .298/.393/.596 with 8 home runs. Eddie Rosario continued hitting the ball out, with a .276/.313/.524 line with 7 home runs. Eduardo Escobar led the team with 9 home runs on a .263/.300/.588 line. Kennys Vargas made the most of the time he got, hitting .324/.410/.588 with a pair of home runs over 39 plate appearances.
