One Last Thing

Jose Berrios’ stellar start on Saturday earned him an 83 game score. That is the 5th game score of 80 or better in 2017. All five have been by either Ervin Santana (3) or Jose Berrios (2). Five in one season by a Twins squad is more than any Twins team since 2011 (Scott Baker with 2, Francisco Liriano with 2, Anthony Swarzak and Carl Pavano each with 1).

Looking back, since 1977, only a dozen seasons have had more than 5 80+ game scores in a season. The most in a single season was 2010 and 1992 when there were 10 80+ game scores in each season.
