One Last Thing

Bartolo Colon’s complete game Friday was the fourth complete game that he’s thrown in his 40’s. That puts Colon in a fairly elite class in the wild card era. Only 3 pitchers have thrown more complete games in their 40’s in that era – Randy Johnson with 13, Dennis Martinez with 10, and Jamie Moyer with 8. Colon’s 4th ties him with Tim Wakefield and David Wells. In all, 59 complete games have been thrown by pitchers 40+ in the wild card era by 18 different pitchers.
