Miguel Sano knocked in nine runs in two games to help the Minnesota Twins sweep Kansas City on the road and boost his team above .500 once again.

After a tough home stand, the Minnesota Twins were fortunate to see a free falling Royals club. The Royals had lost seven in a row before Miguel Sano and company came to town.

While Kansas City may be free falling, Sano could not be any hotter. In the two game series, Sano drove in nine of the thirteen runs scored for the Twins.

In Friday nights action, the Twins were trailing by two before Sano stepped to the plate in the 8th inning. Sano smacked in the tying runs with a double off the top of the left field fence. One inch higher Sano could have added a grand slam to his résumé for the weekend.

Joe Mauer helped finish the job by pulling a double down the right field line to clear the bases. Matt Belisle and Taylor Rogers threw a scoreless 8th and Brandon Kintzler shut the door in the 9th.

Play resumed Sunday after a rain-out and Sano continued to rake.

After getting down two runs early, Sano hit a 3-run rocket into the stands to put them back on top. The Royals continued to pitch to our third baseman so he made them pay. Our third baseman added RBI singles in his next two at bats, putting the Twins in front for good.

Sano is leading the American League with 25 RBI’s and he is also making Twins history.

Sano is quickly becoming the face of the franchise with his big bat and head turning plays at third base.

The team hopes that he can stay hot as they take on the Oakland A’s at Target Field. They welcome old friend Trevor Plouffe. Hopefully Sano can continue to show his former teammate the Twins made the right call by giving Miguel the hot corner.
