Robbie Grossman has four multi-hit games already this year for the Minnesota Twins and has gotten on base in every game he has been in the starting line-up.

Robbie Grossman has been a surprise for the Minnesota Twins so far this season. He is batting .308/.471/.487 in twelve starts (thirteen total games) while hitting all over the Twins lineup.

Grossman has led off, batted second, ninth, and most recently, fifth. He has provided consistent offense on a team that has been so inconsistent.

Robbie has four multi-hit games already this year and has gotten on base in every game he has been in the starting line-up. Grossman has been able to be more patient at the plate than any of his previous major league seasons. He has drawn twelve walks while only striking out seven times.

In contrast, Byron Buxton has struck out an AL leading 23 times with only two walks and Brian Dozier has five walks to go along with ten strikeouts.

The real question to ask is if Grossman can keep up this consistent offense. His career slash line is .256/.352/.379 and 295 strikeouts to 150 walks. This season the Twins have only put Grossman in the field two games.

In return, Robbie has been able to focus more on his hitting as he is the main designated hitter in the Twins offense. Albeit not your typical DH with only 23 career home runs over 1,204 plate appearances (one home run every 45 at-bats).

Robbie Grossman’s patience has made him very valuable for the Minnesota Twins. If he can keep it up, he will end up with 130 walks. This would be fourteen more than Mike Trout had last season and would be the most since Jose Bautista walked 136 times in 2011.

So far, Grossman has showed great potential for the Minnesota Twins. With a struggling offense, the Twins can only hope to get continued success from Robbie.
