Kyle Gibson started for the Twins and did an adequate job lasting 5.2 innings. Three runs scored on his watch but just one of them was earned.
With the bullpen misfiring on multiple occasions early this year, Molitor opted to ride the reliable Ryan Pressly. Pressly got the last out of the 6th and then pitched the 7th and 8th as well. Trevor May was asked to get right back on the horse but allowed an insurance run in the 9th.
Down 3-0 in the 4th, the anemic Twins bats managed to scrape together a run. Eddie Rosario had an RBI groundout to score Miguel Sano. That was all the offense they were able to produce on the afternoon and again, it wasn’t nearly enough.
