Minnesota Twins Pre-Season Staff Predictions

- How many home runs will Miguel Sano hit? Byung-ho Park?
Jordan: Sano – Going with one of my bold predictions earlier, 35. Park, I’m going to say 27. Kind of a random number? Maybe, but we’ll wait and see.
Martin: Looking at ESPN, the projections say Sano will hit 38 home runs, and 26 for Park. I would be happily surprised if Sano hit over 35 home runs. As for Park, I am going to safely assume 20 to 25 home runs.
Scott: Sano’s at bats may suffer if he does poorly in the field, but I still think he can hit 32 even if he is in a funk, he’s that good. Park can roll out of bed and hit 30 HRs. An early jump before pitchers learn about him is expected, a split of 20/10 is likely between the 2 halves of the season.
Paul: I expect pitchers to have a better grasp on Sano’s plate approach, and I suspect some struggles from Sano at the plate as he begins to be comfortable in the outfield. I’m going to predict that Sano hits in the area of 27 home runs by the end of the season. As for Park, I’m expecting him to take a bit of a step back as the season begins. I think he might have some ‘hot streak’ weeks, but I think he’ll end up in the high teens to end the season.
Manuel: If he stays healthy I would say 30.
Mike: I’ll take 31 on Sano and 25 for Park
