Paul Molitor finished third in balloting for the AL Manager of the Year Tuesday night, as decided by voting from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.

Molitor finished with two first place votes, three second place votes, and fourteen third place votes, for a total of 33 points. Molitor finished behind Astros manager A. J. Hinch (82 points) and Ranger Manager Jeff Banister (112 points).

Molitor helped add 13 wins to the Twins’ win column in 2015. The team finished with an 83-79 record, a vast improvement from their 2014 70-92 effort, giving Minnesota fans reason for optimism with a strong young core of players and a new manager renowned for his baseball acumen.
