61. Nick Gordon

Lower for Baseball America than on most other prospect lists, the Twins 2014 first round pick still sees himself climbing up the rankings. With brother Dee Gordon already in the majors, and father Tom Gordon having finished a strong career, Nick’s lineage is strong. The Twins had to be impressed with what they saw from Gordon at the plate in Elizabethton, and he will need to continue to develop to reach the major leagues.

Gordon is fluid in the field, although there is some doubt as to whether or not he sticks at shortstop. His bat isn’t yet an asset, but as he grows into his frame, he could develop more power and a better contact swing. Gordon has immense upside and should be regarded as the Twins shortstop of the future. He’s a ways away however, and needs to continue to refine his process.
