Minnesota Twins Fall To Cleveland on Saturday

A pair of three-run innings put the Cleveland Indians over the Minnesota Twins on Saturday. Cleveland kicked the scoring off in the second inning with a Mike Aviles RBI triple that scored two which was followed by a Michael Bourn RBI infield single.

Jordan Schafer hit into a grounder’s choice in the bottom of the inning to get the Twins on the board, but it was just one in a small string of innings the Twins would  put up a single run.

Yan Gomes got the run back for Cleveland via RBI single in the third. Kennys Vargas knocked in Brian Dozier to cut the lead back to three.

In the fifth, Gomes struck again. Gomes hit a three-run homer to blow it open for Cleveland. Dozier hit a solo shot in the eighth, but that is all the Twins could muster as they fell 7-3.

Trevor May was the starter for the Twins on Saturday. May went 4.2 innings allowing seven runs on eight hits in the outing. May is currently sporting an 8.39 ERA.

Brian Dozier wins the offensive MVP of the day by going 3-for-5 with the solo shot.
