Minnesota Twins Game 134: Lineups and First Impressions

The Minnesota Twins head to Maryland tonight to face off with the Baltimore Orioles. After dropping three out of four games to the division leading Kansas City Royals, the Twins will look to knock off the top dog in the AL East. The Orioles need some keys wins to continue to push their lead over the New York Yankees.
For the Twins tonight, Trevor May will take the mound and will be in search of his first career victory. He will be opposed by Miguel Gonzalez for the Orioles.
Here is how both teams will line up:
Minnesota Twins (59-74)
Brian Dozier 2B
Joe Mauer DH
- Trevor May
Baltimore Orioles (76-56)
Steve Pearce 1B
Adam Jones CF
Nelson Cruz DH
Delmon Young LF
J.J. Hardy SS
Chris Davis 3B
- Miguel Gonzalez
First Impressions:
- While I am not of the camp that believe Danny Santana is the long term answer at shortstop, he is likely the answer next year while Escobar moves to a utility role. I hate every lineup I see Ron Gardenhire not make that switch. September please come soon.
- Vargas is at first tonight, giving Mauer essentially a second day of rest, not a bad move there at all.
- Apparently the Orioles are going up against the Twins tonight with a lineup of formers. Pearce, Young, and Hardy all have played for the Twins previously. I still hate seeing Hardy in an Orioles uniform thinking that he turned into Jim Hoey for the Twins.
- How good has Steve Pearce been this year, seriously! Good for him
Game Details:
First pitch tonight from Camden Yards is scheduled for 6:05 central time, and the game can be seen on Fox Sports North. Catch the game on the radio over the Twins Radio Network.
