Some home cooking did not help the Minnesota Twins on Monday night. If the pitching matchup has any indication on how Tuesday will go, well, I don’t like how Tuesday might go for the Twins. The home dugout at Target Field sends out the very highly paid Ricky Nolasco (4-6, 5.74 ERA) while the visiting clubhouse will be throwing James Shields (8-3, 3.79 ERA) on the mound.

Minnesota Twins (37-44) Lineup

Eduardo Nunez SS

Joe Mauer 1B

Chris Parmelee LF

Kendrys Morales DH

Trevor Plouffe 3B

Oswaldo Arcia RF

Kurt Suzuki C

Eduardo Escobar 2B

Sam Fuld CF

Kansas City Royals (43-39) Lineup

Lorenzo Cain CF

Eric Hosmer 1B

Billy Butler DH

Alex Gordon LF

Salvador Perez C

Raul Ibanez RF

Omar Infante 2B

Mike Moustakas 3B

Alcides Escobar SS

First Impressions

  • It’s an off-day for Brian Dozier. Another way to jump start that run scoring problem.
  • Not crazy with Eduardo Nunez being the leadoff guy.
  • Parmelee has been putting together a nice string of games. Love seeing him in the lineup because of that.
  • I don’t think in the ideal world for the Royals that they had Moustakas hitting eighth.
  • Raul Ibanez making his KC debut tonight at Target Field.
  • Billy Butler has the best nickname in the game and will forever. Country Breakfast 4EVA!

Game Time

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 from beautiful Target Field in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The game can be seen on FOX Sports North, who I hear is putting together a lot of All-Star Game content, I don’t know if you’ve heard about it yet. The game can also be heard on the Twins Radio Network.
