No Brian Dozier today for the Minnesota Twins, he is still out with some back stiffness after a collision in Toronto on Wednesday afternoon. The Twins do add Sam Fuld and Eric Fryer to the roster today, though. Fuld is activated after Aaron Hicks was put on the DL and Fryer is up after the demotion of Josmil Pinto. None of the players I just listed are in the starting nine for this crucial series against division leading Detroit, so let’s look at who is in the lineup tonight.

Minnesota Twins (31-33) Lineup

Danny Santana CF

Kurt Suzuki C

Joe Mauer 1B

Josh Willingham LF

Kendrys Morales DH

Oswaldo Arcia RF

Trevor Plouffe 3B

Eduardo Nunez SS

Eduardo Escobar 2B

Detroit Tigers (34-28) Lineup

Ian Kinsler 2B

Austin Jackson CF

Miguel Cabrera 1B

Victor Martinez DH

J.D. Martinez RF

Don Kelly LF

Nick Castellanos 3B

Alex Avila C

Andrew Romine SS

First Impressions

  • Back-to-back Eduardo’s means double the fun!
  • Kurt Suzuki in the two-hole! PARTAY!
  • It’s amazing how Kendrys Morales makes this lineup actually look not half bad. (I’ll probably be saying this for a while)
  • This is a pretty huge series for the Twins if they actually want to contend. No pressure, boys.
  • Smyly, another great name.

Game Time

First pitch is scheduled for 6:08 Central from Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan.

The game can be seen on FOX Sports North or heard on the Twins Radio Network.
