The Ballad of Drew Butera – Los Angeles Dodgers

facebooktwitterreddit

Drew Butera made the Opening Series roster for the Dodgers as they went down to Australia and swept the Diamondbacks in a 2 game series. Panic! at the Disco wrote a song titled “The Balland of Mona Lisa.” In tribute to the great Drew Butera (#BoatAnchor), I bring you the Ballad of Drew Butera. Well done Sweet Drew, well done.

“The Ballad Of Mona Lisa Drew Butera”

He paints his fingers with a close precision
He starts to notice empty bottles of gin
And takes a moment to assess the sins he’s paid forA lonely speaker in a conversation
His words were swimming through her ears again
There’s nothing wrong with just a taste of what you’ve paid for

Say what you mean
Tell me I’m right
And let the sun rain down on me
Give me a sign
I want to believe

Whoa, Mona Lisa Drew Butera,
You’re guaranteed to run this town
Whoa, Mona Lisa Drew Butera,
I’d pay to see you frown

She senses something, call it desperation
Another dollar, another day
And if he had the proper words to say,
He would tell her
But he’d have nothing left to sell her

Say what you mean
Tell me I’m right
And let the sun rain down on me
Give me a sign
I want to believe

Whoa, Mona Lisa Drew Butera,
You’re guaranteed to run this town
Whoa, Mona Lisa Drew Butera,
I’d pay to see you frown

Mona Lisa Drew Butera, wear me out
Pleased to please ya
Mona Lisa Drew Butera, wear me out

Say what you mean
Tell me I’m right
And let the sun rain down on me
Give me a sign
I want to believe

Whoa, Mona Lisa Drew Butera,
You’re guaranteed to run this town
Whoa, Mona Lisa Drew Butera,
I’d pay to see you frown

Say what you mean
Tell me I’m right
And let the sun rain down on me
Give me a sign
I want to believe

There’s nothing wrong with just a taste of what you’ve paid for
