The Minnesota Twins had a media luncheon on Friday afternoon and a lot of nuggets were dispersed throughout the luncheon. I wasn’t allowed in, I think because I’m just too good looking, but the beat writers were tweeting up a storm, so here are the big notes from the day.

I wrote about this on Friday when it broke, but the big news of the day was that Chuck Knoblauch has been elected to the Twins Hall of Fame.

It looks like we might know who the starting catcher is going to be now…
TR basically anoints Suzuki the starting catcher. "Not sure who's going to back him up."

Terry Ryan said he's not sure yet who will back up Kurt Suzuki at catcher. Pinto, Herrmann, Fryer all options. #MNTwins

On the injury front, not a whole lot is going on.
Chris Parmelee had a cyst removed from his wrist but is expected to be ready for Spring Training.

Other than Parmelee, Terry Ryan says #mntwins have no health issues. Physicals done here this weekend.

We have a little more confirmation on the Andrew Albers-Korea deal.
Deal to send Andrew Albers is essentially complete, GM Terry Ryan says.

— We have a victor in the Josh Willingham/Jason Kubel number duel.
Jason Kubel, who wore No. 16 during his first stint with the #MNTwins, is wearing No. 13 tonight. Josh Willingham now wears No. 16.

Here’s some loose end notes about promotions, concerts and the ‘Ron Gardenhire Show’.
All-Star bobbleheads planned as giveaways in 2014, Twins say, plus Ron Gardenhire gnomes. Also, throwback game wearing '84 blues.
— Phil Miller (@MillerStrib) January 24, 2014
Major concerts planned for Target Field around All-Star Game and second half. Pearl Jam is on the radar due to Vedder connection. #mntwins
— Mike BerardinoNDI (@MikeBerardino) January 24, 2014
Ron Gardenhire's radio show will remain on Sunday mornings, but Kris Atteberry and Jack Morris will host the show. Now in-house on KTWIN.
