Jose Mijares has been activated from the DL, and he will be back for the Yankees series this weekend. He had an inauspicious rehab assignment, giving up 5 runs on 6 hits in 1.2 innings for AAA Rochester.
To make room, the Twins will send down Wilson Ramos. Ramos went 8-27 and had a .323 wOBA in his time with the Twins. Ramos getting sent down is good news because it: gives him a chance to play every day and develop, gives him a chance to play every day to build up a lot of trade value and most importantly it signals that Joe Mauer is healthy enough to assume the catching load again.
One plea to Joe and Gardy though: I know Drew Butera sucks, but let him catch day games after night games please. Thanks.
