A nice series win for the Twins. Truthfully I thought they’d go 2-2 in Anaheim, so we’ll call them +1 for the year. A few random thoughts:
Kevin Slowey wasn’t the sharpest, but still got out of there allowing only 1 run. Only going 5 runs isn’t ideal, but after the nights off the bullpen had the past couple of nights it’s not a killer.
Jim Thome had a homer, double and a walk and just generally looked much more comfortable at the plate tonight. While Delmon had a homer as well, I expect we’ll be seeing a lot more of Thome and Kubel in the lineup at the same time.
Nice to see Brendan Harris hit a homer, and it was really nice to see Alex Burnett get a 1-2-3 inning in his ML debut in hi shometown.
