The trade deadline is almost here. At 5 p.m. CDT this Monday, teams will no longer be able to make traditional trades for the rest of the season.
There's plenty of excitement surrounding the Twins as the deadline nears. Minnesota already made a big trade deadline splash on Thursday night by acquiring left-hander A.J. Minter from the New York Mets for infield prospects Billy Amick and Bruin Agbayani. Since the Twins have already made a big deadline move, they are likely planning to make more trades.
While most Twins fans are likely focused on their favorite team, there are two notable former players who fans can expect to be traded by Monday evening.

Colorado Rockies UTL Willi Castro
The Twins traded Castro to the Chicago Cubs at last summer's trade deadline. Castro's stint with the Cubs didn't go well, as the utilityman posted -0.5 bWAR while hitting .170/.245/.240 in 110 plate appearances across 34 games.
Despite his poor finish to the 2025 season, Castro signed a two-year, $12.8 million deal with the Rockies in the offseason. In 93 games with Colorado, Castro has posted 0.5 bWAR with a .259/.330/.405 slash line, 11 home runs and 45 RBI.
Castro appears to be a prime trade candidate for the Rockies, who own the worst record in the National League (42-67). Colorado's front office likely believes it won't make the postseason next year, so dealing Castro while he has roughly a year and a half of team control would make sense for the organization. Castro can play all around the diamond, making him an attractive trade chip even though he has been a below-average hitter this season.
San Francisco Giants 2B Luis Arraez
Arraez, who played for the Twins from 2019-22, is in the midst of an outstanding season with the Giants, who signed him to a one-year, $12 million deal this past offseason. The Giants are far away from a postseason spot, so Arraez will almost certainly be dealt unless San Francisco plans to extend him.
Arraez has slashed a remarkable .328/.364/.447 over 103 games this year. Despite being a below-average second baseman throughout most of his career, Arraez made it clear he would only sign with a team that would allow him to play second base rather than first full-time. Arraez has suddenly improved drastically defensively, recording +11 Outs Above Average in 871 2/3 innings at second this year. Before this season, he had posted -36 OAA as a second baseman. He recently said he is staying at second if traded to another team.
