1 player from 2025 Twins team who will be missed
SS/3B Carlos Correa
Many of you probably disagree with this statement. Unfortunately, it's going to be difficult not to miss Correa if he continues to perform with the Houston Astros, who brought back the shortstop/third baseman via a trade with the Twins at last summer's Trade Deadline.
Correa, 31, had a rough start to the 2025 season, hitting just .267/.319/.386 (94 OPS+) with seven homers and 31 RBI over 93 games with the Minnesota Twins while sporting poor defensive metrics at shortstop. After the Twins traded him to the Astros, Correa hit .290/.355/.430 (117 OPS+) with six homers and 21 RBI over 51 games. He mainly played third base with Houston last season and posted 2 Outs Above Average (OAA) at the position.
Correa has also looked sharp this spring, going 7-for-24 with one homer, one RBI and four walks.
Injuries have plagued Correa in recent years, so it's very possible he could miss a huge chunk of the season. But if he remains healthy and continues to look solid at the plate and in the field, Twins fans will wish he's still on their favorite team. The fact that Minnesota is still paying about one-third of his contract would sting the Twins even more if he has a strong season.

C Christian Vázquez
Everybody loves Christian Vázquez, who signed a minor-league deal with the Astros earlier in the month. He always seems to be the first one to cheer when a teammate has a big moment.
However, when thinking strictly about on-the-field performance, Vázquez most likely won't be missed by Twins fans.
Signing Vázquez to a minor-league deal is a low-risk move, and he can offer the Astros a veteran presence. Still, the Twins are much better off at the catcher position by replacing Vázquez with Victor Caratini, whom Minnesota signed to a two-year, $14 million deal in the offseason.
Vázquez signed a three-year, $30 million deal with the Minnesota Twins during the 2022-23 offseason to split time at catcher with Ryan Jeffers. The deal didn't work out for the Twins, as Vázquez was worth exactly 0.0 bWAR with an awful .215/.267/.311 (60 OPS+) slash line in 884 plate appearances across 260 games during his three years with Minnesota.
Hopefully Vázquez has a bounce-back season with Houston. Unfortunately, it's difficult to imagine he will, given his stats from the last three seasons.
