Minnesota Twins Game 87: Lineups and First Impressions

Credit: Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

If the Minnesota Twins win today they end the four game series with the New York Yankees in a tie. If the Twins lose today, we never mention this weekend again. We were all at the lake and we didn’t even know that baseball was a thing. Other than the Oakland A’s getting even better with that trade with the Chicago Cubs. We can’t ignore that. Here are the lineups for our lovely little Twinkies and the not so lovely Bombers.

Minnesota Twins (39-47) Lineup

Brian Dozier 2B
Eduardo Nunez SS
Chris Parmelee 1B
Josh Willingham LF
Oswaldo Arcia RF
Kurt Suzuki C
Trevor Plouffe 3B
Chris Colabello DH
Sam Fuld CF

New York Yankees (43-43) Lineup

Brett Gardner LF

Derek Jeter  SS

Jacoby Ellsbury CF

Mark Teixeira 1B

Carlos Beltran DH

Brian Roberts 2B

Ichiro Suzuki RF

Francisco Cervelli C

Kelly Johnson 3B

First Impressions

  • Kendrys Morales is not in the lineup today. *insert sad face emoticon*
  • Nunez and Parmelee hitting 2-3 is what my dreams are made of. Oh, those are nightmares never mind.
  • It looks weird with Colabello hitting eighth. It might be the right spot, but it still looks weird.
  • The absence of Joe Mauer and Danny Santana really makes the Twins lineup look pretty depressing.

Game Time

First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 Central from beautiful Target Field in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The game can be seen on Fox Sports North and heard on the Twins Radio Network.
