Minnesota Twins Game 49: Lineups and First Impressions

Surprise, surprise. Tuesday’s Texas Rangers/Minnesota Twins matchup was supposed to be a matchup of hot pitchers with Yu Darvish and Phil Hughes toeing the rubber, but Darvish will not be on the mound tonight for the Rangers. Darvish has been scratched from Tuesday’s start with neck stiffness and in his place former Twin Scott Baker will be hurling for the Rangers.

First Impressions

  • No Darvish really stinks. I was looking forward to this matchup.
  • Scott Baker being the replacement is a nice little narrative.
  • If we all give Gardy five bucks will he play both Josmil Pinto and Kurt Suzuki in the same lineup without a third catcher?
  • I smile when seeing Arcia batting fourth despite him being wrongly exiled to Triple-A for a couple weeks.

Game Time

First pitch is 7:10 Central from beautiful Target Field in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Game can be seen on FOX Sports North and heard on the Twins Radio Network.
