My fall adgenda: No Twins baseball

facebooktwitterreddit

The playoffs are in full-swing here in October, but baseball for the Minnesota Twins has been over for going on three weeks. And meaningfull baseball, well, that’s something we haven’t seen in Minnesota in a long long time.

Fear not my friends, for all is not lost. There are many good things happening at this time of year. Most notably, fall harvests. Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and bonus, the Christian Ponder era appears to be over for the Vikings. These are all good things.

My favorite, non-baseball, thing about this time of year is the emergence of Pumpkin beers. Pumpkin beers are everywhere. The undisputed king of Pumpkin beer is the Southern Tier Pumpking, it’s a little pricey, but worth every cent.

This weekend I’ll be having some of my friends over to have a pumpkin beer taste test. We’ll be sampling more than a dozen different pumpkin inspired beers from around the country (and a few ciders, as well) and then going on a hayrack ride where we get to shoot at zombies with paintball guns.

There is no Twins baseball in my life these days, but things are going pretty great for me out in cold, rainy, grey, depressing Seattle. If I can be happy, so can you. Now if only we could get Terry Ryan and the front office to get some serious starting pitching…

I hope the past three 90-loss seasons aren’t weighing you down too much. Relax, go grab yourself a pumpkin beer and heck, go murder some zombies. __________________
