Minnesota Twins set to take on the Baltimore Orioles at Target Field

The Minnesota Twins and Baltimore Orioles are set to due battle at Target Field. Both teams come in with 43-39 records and are tied for the Wild Card lead in the American League. The Twins will face a trio of tough pitchers in, Wei-Yin Chen, Kevin Gausman and Ubaldo Jimenez.

Three Players to Watch

1. Miguel Sano will make his Target Field debut tonight. Sano’s big league career has gotten off to a good start, as he’s recorded a hit in his first four games. The young slugger is hitting .400 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs. Twins fans have been waiting for his arrival for quite some time and they will finally get to see him up close tonight.

2. Joe Mauer is off to a hot start in July. The Twins first baseman is hitting .471 through five games this month. In the final two games against the Royals he went 6-9, including his first four-hit game since 2013. Mauer is currently hitting .275 on the season with five home runs and 41 RBIs.

3. Phil Hughes will be looking for his sixth straight quality start when he takes the mound in the series opener. Hughes finished the month of June with a 3-2 mark and a 3.76 earned run average. He’s 7-6 on the year with a 4.27 earned run average.
