Minnesota Twins Game 133: Lineups and First Impressions

facebooktwitterreddit

After another tough loss last night, the Minnesota Twins will look to get back into the win column in the final game of the series with the Kansas City Royals.  Phil Hughes was great through most of the game last night prior to ceding runs and his eventual departure.  Tonight, the Twins will look to put together a complete performance and wind up with the win.

Tommy Milone will toe the rubber for the Twins and he will be opposed by Jeremy Guthrie of the Royals.  Milone will be looking to improve upon his last outing for the Twins, and use strong run support to aide him to victory.

Here is how both teams will line up:

Minnesota Twins (58-74)

Danny Santana CF

Brian Dozier 2B

Kurt Suzuki C

Kennys Vargas DH

Oswaldo Arcia RF

Trevor Plouffe 3B

Chris Parmelee 1B

Eduardo Nunez SS

Jordan Schafer LF

  • Tommy Milone LHP

Kansas City Royals (73-58)

Nori Aoki RF

Alcides Escobar SS

Alex Gordon LF

Billy Butler 1B

Salvador Perez C

Josh Willingham DH

Lorenzo Cain CF

Mike Moustakas 3B

Christian Colon 2B

  • Jeremy Guthrie RHP

First Impressions:

  • The Twins and Ron Gardenhire will give Joe Mauer a break tonight.  Interestingly though, Mauer sitting has Kurt Suzuki manning the three hole in the lineup.  Your guess is as good as mine as to why.
  • Eduardo Nunez will be at short for the Twins tonight, yes he is still on the roster, it has been quite a while since we have seen him.
  • Kansas City will go back to Josh Willingham tonight at DH and Raul Ibanez will be back on the bench.

Game Details:

First pitch tonight is scheduled for 7:10pm central time.  The game can be seen on Fox Sports North and heard on the Twins Radio Network.
