Minnesota Twins Game 100: Lineups and First Impressions

facebooktwitterreddit

The Minnesota Twins are set to do battle with the Cleveland Indians once again today in what proves to be the rubber match of the series.  If our series preview stands to be correct, the Twins will need to lead on spot start, Anthony Swarzak to put them in position for the win.

Following a strong outing by Danny Salazar last night, the Indians will send Trevor Bauer to the mound.  The once top prospect will be looking to keep a string of three consecutive quality starts going.  Opposing him for the Twins will be Swarzak, who is stepping in for scheduled start Kyle Gibson, who is out with back stiffness.

Here is how both teams will lineup for the Wednesday matinée:

Cleveland Indians (51-49)

Jason Kipnis 2B

Jose Ramirez SS

Michael Brantley CF

Carlos Santana 1B

Lonnie Chisenhall 3B

Nick Swisher DH

David Murphy RF

Roberto Perez C

Chris Dickerson LF

Minnesota Twins (45-54)

Sam Fuld LF

Brian Dozier 2B

Trevor Plouffe 3B

Kendrys Morales DH

Chris Colabello 1B

Oswaldo Arcia RF

Eduardo Nunez SS

Eric Fryer C

Danny Santana CF

First Impressions:

  • The Twins sure seem determined to get Danny Santana acclimated to the outfield.  Having Nunez at short today once again keeps the natural infielder patrolling the outfield grass.
  • Sam Fuld and Santana flip spots in their normal batting order positions
  • No Josh Willingham this afternoon for the Twins as Colabello gets the start at first with Morales at DH and Fuld in left.
  • Hopefully Swarzak can calm Carlos Santana’s hot bat after his impressive performance last night

Game Details:

Today’s game has a first pitch scheduled for 12:10 pm central time, which means the game just got underway.  You can catch the game on Fox Sports North, or the Twins Radio Network.
