It’s a winning streak! Seriously, the Minnesota Twins have won three games in a row now and according to Major League II that constitutes a winning streak. I’ll take it.

Kevin Correia notched another win in six innings of work only allowing two runs on five hits and two walks. Andre Rienzo only lasted 4.1 innings for the White Sox giving up four runs to the Twins on seven hits.

Joe Mauer keeps heating up in the RBI department. Mauer achieved two more RBI on Saturday with a two-run double in the fifth scoring Danny Santana and Brian Dozier. The double put the Twins ahead of the White Sox 3-2. A couple batters later, Kendrys Morales would hit an RBI single scoring Mauer giving the Twins a 4-2 lead.

Morales saw his first action in the field on Saturday. Morales was placed at first while Mauer handled DH duties. Morales went 1-for-4 on the day.

Chris Parmelee and Brian Dozier both had 2-for-3 days.

Closer Glen Perkins made it an interesting one in the ninth inning for the second straight day. Perkins only allowed one run though on Saturday afternoon, closing out the game and giving the Twins a 4-3 victory.

Brian Duensing, Matt Guerrier and Casey Fien also appeared in the conga-line of relievers for the Twins.

The boxscore for the contest can be found here.

The Twins and White Sox will do battle again on Sunday as the Twins look for the four game sweep of the South Siders.
