Minnesota Twins Game 64: Lineups and First Impressions

facebooktwitterreddit

Last night, the Minnesota Twins got arguably the best performance of the year from Kevin Correia, and they cruised to a 4-0 win.  Drawing back within three games of the .500 mark, the Twins will be looking to take the series today from the AL East leading, Toronto Blue Jays.

On the mound for the Twins today is Phil Hughes.  Hughes will be looking to bounce back from a rough performance in his last outing.  Opposing him for the Blue Jays will be fireballing rookie, Marcus Stroman.

Let’s take a look at how the two teams will line up.

Minnesota Twins (30-33)

1. Danny Santana CF

2. Brian Dozier 2B

3. Joe Mauer 1B

4. Josh Willingham LF

5. Kendrys Morales DH

6. Oswaldo Arcia RF

7. Trevor Plouffe 3B

8. Kurt Suzuki C

9. Eduardo Nunez SS

Toronto Blue Jays (39-27)

1. Jose Reyes SS

2. Melky Cabrera LF

3. Jose Bautista RF

4. Edwin Encarnacion DH

5. Adam Lind 1B

6. Brett Lawrie 3B

7. Erik Kratz C

8. Steven Tolleson 2B

First Impressions:

  • Eduardo Nunez is looking to make his first start of the season for the Twins at shortstop.
  • Today marks another day that Kurt Suzuki will be behind the plate with no sign of Josmil Pinto in the lineup.
  • How formidable does the Twins heart of the order look right now.  Mauer is struggling, but Willingham, Morales, and Arcia are all tough outs and having great at bats.
  • Can Brian Dozier hit yet another home run in this series, seriously, how is he not an All-Star by now?

Game Time:

First pitch is scheduled for 11:37 am central time and the game can be seen on Fox Sports North.

If you aren’t able to watch the game, catch the action on the Twins Radio Network.
