Minnesota Twins Game 63: Lineups and First Impressions

facebooktwitterreddit

After facing a knuckleballer, and former Twins minor leaguer, in R.A. Dickey last night, the Minnesota Twins will be looking to get their first win in the series against the Toronto Blue jays against J.A. Happ.  The Minnesota Twins find themselves four games below .500 for the first time on the season, and will need to get back into the win column sooner rather than later.

Dropping the game in the bottom of the 9th after a late rally was a bit of a blow for the Twins last night.  They will need to get on the hittable Happ early tonight and stay ahead.

Let’s take a look at the lineups to see how each team will match up.

Minnesota Twins (29-33)

1. Danny Santana CF

2. Brian Dozier 2B

3. Joe Mauer 1B

4. Josh Willingham LF

5. Kendrys Morales DH

6. Oswaldo Arcia RF

7. Eduardo Nunez 3B

8. Kurt Suzuki C

9. Eduardo Escobar SS

Toronto Blue Jays (39-26)

1. Jose Reyes SS

2. Melky Cabrera LF

3. Jose Bautista RF

4. Edwin Encarnacion 1B

5. Adam Lind DH

6. Brett Lawrie 2B

7. Dioner Navarro C

8. Juan Francisco 3B

9. Anthony Gose CF

First Impressions:

  • Kendry Morales doesn’t take long to move up in the batting order shifting from 6th to 5th as Trevor Plouffe also gets a night off.
  • Tonight the Twins again go with Danny Santana in CF and Eduardo Escobar at SS, further costing Aaron Hicks precious at bats at any level.
  • Kurt Suzuki finds himself behind the plate as Josmil Pinto gets another night off.
  • The Blue Jay 2-4 hitters may be the most daunting three hitters in a row, of any team in baseball right now.

Game Time:

First pitch is scheduled for the odd time of 6:07 pm Central time and the game will be televised on Fox Sports North.
