Minnesota Twins Designate Jason Kubel For Assignment

We all thought it instantly when news broke that the Minnesota Twins had signed Kendrys Morales, but now it is fact. Jason Kubel has been designated for assignment to make room for Morales on the roster.

It’s not a real shocker. After a hot first month, it looked like Jason Kubel might have rekindled some of the things he showed in his first go-round in a Minnesota Twins uniform. Once April ended it all went downhill for the South Dakota native.

Jason Kubel’s stats for the 2014 season: .224/.313/.295, one home run, six doubles and 13 RBI.

Kubel was part of the Reunion Tour for the Twins. Jason Bartlett didn’t make It very long, but Matt Guerrier is still in the Twins bullpen.

Kubel played with the Twins initially from 2004 through 2011, before moving onto the Arizona Diamonbacks for a season and a half and the Cleveland Indians for eight games.
