Minnesota Twins Game 58: Lineups and First Impressions

facebooktwitterreddit

The Minnesota Twins are set to face off with the Milwaukee Brewers tonight at Target Field in what would be the series clinching game for the Twins.  Also of importance, should the Twins find their way into the win column tonight, they would be looking at a .500 record with 29 wins and losses through their first 58 games.  Lineups for both the Twins and the Brewers look like this:

Milwaukee Brewers (35-25):

1. Jean Segura SS

2. Ryan Braun RF

3. Jonathan Lucroy C

4. Carlos Gomez CF

5. Aramis Ramirez DH

6. Khris Davis LF

7. Scooter Gennett 2B

8. Mark Reynolds 3B

9. Lyle Overbay 1B

Minnesota Twins (28-29):

1. Danny Santana CF

2. Brian Dozier 2B

3. Joe Mauer 1B

4. Josh Willingham LF

5. Oswaldo Arcia RF

6. Trevor Plouffe DH

7. Eduardo Nunez 3B

8. Josmil Pinto C

9. Eduardo Escobar SS

 First Impressions:

  • #FreePinto lovers will be excited to see him in the lineup back to back days.  Coming off an ugly 0-4 with three strikeouts last night, these are the days he’ll need to prove consecutive starts get him in rythym.
  • Danny Santana, Twins shortstop of the future, still finds himself in Centerfield.
  • Another night of no Aaron Hicks means the Twins are continuing to stunt whatever potential growth there is at the expense of getting Eduardo Escobar at bats.
  • The heart of the lineup continues to look strong with both Josh Willingham and Oswaldo Arcia mashing the ball since returning to the lineup.
  • With Wily Peralta going against Kevin Correia tonight, the Twins appear to be going against an uphill battle to get back to the .500 mark.

Game Time

First pitch is schedule for 7:10 pm Central at Target Field in Minneapolis tonight.  With clouds creeping in, rain could factor in.

The game will be televised on Fox Sports North and can be heard on the Twins Radio Network.
