Minnesota Twins Activate Aaron Hicks, Add Chris Parmelee

More roster moves! All your roster moves belong to us! The Minnesota Twins sent Chris Herrmann and Pedro Florimon to Triple-A Rochester after Thursday’s loss to the Indians and on Friday we found out who would be taking their place on the active roster.

Aaron Hicks has been activated from the seven-day concussion disabled list and Chris Parmelee was purchased from Rochester.

The two will add some depth to the Twins outfield which has had nothing that even resembles depth the past couple of days. Even if Aaron Hicks struggles at the plate, there’s no denying that he can surely play centerfield better than Eduardo Escobar.

Parmelee has pretty much torn up Triple-A in 2014. In 32 games, Parmelee is hitting .305/.378/.542 with seven home runs and 23 RBIs. Parmelee has played 22 games at first this season and nine games in right field.

Chris Parmelee had to be added to the 40-man roster and that means someone, again, had to be optioned off of the 40-man island. Kenny Wilson was the one voted off the island. The Twins had just claimed Wilson from the Toronto Blue Jays on April 24. Wilson has not yet been claimed by any team.
