Another day, another missed game by Joe Mauer. Okay, it’s only Mauer’s second straight missed game, but knowing the track record the Twins have with dealing with injuries, it’s worth a mention.

Twins and Indians face off in game two of the four game set tonight. Sam Deduno gets his first start on the year after Mike Pelfrey was placed on the DL. Danny Santana got his first MLB action last night and gets his first start on Tuesday.

Cleveland Indians (13-19) Lineup

First Impressions

  • An Eduardo Escobar/Danny Santana combo at third and short is quite intriguing.
  • Nick Swisher batting second in the lineup seems weird to me. Mauer batting second probably feels weird around the league too.
  • I’m very excited for Deduno’s first start of the season. It’s well deserved.
  • Will the Twins ever see Carlos Santana behind the plate again? I’m starting to think it’s just an urban legend that he still sometimes catches.

Game Time

First pitch is 6:10 Central from Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio.

Can be seen on FOX Sports North and heard on the Twins Radio Network.
