Corriea Gets Hit Hard, Minnesota Twins Lose 10-6

Rented mule, meet Kevin Correia. Kevin Correia, meet rented mule.

It wasn’t exactly a pretty game for Kevin Correia on Friday night. His line of 2.1 innings with eight runs scored, seven earned, is a pretty accurate portrayal of the evening.

Just look at the third inning. The Tigers scored seven runs in the inning and midway through the inning every single Tigers hitter had a hit. It’s pretty rare for everyone in a lineup to get a hit, no less everyone get one before they have recorded double-digit outs.

The fun fact of the third inning was that defending American League MVP Miguel Cabrera was responsible for all three outs in the inning after hitting into a double-play to end the big rally.

The Twins tried to make a comeback in the sixth inning, but the Tigers already having ten runs in the ballgame was too much to overcome. The game ended with a 10-6 score.

Twins Home Runs: Brian Dozier

Twins Doubles: Jason Kubel, Trevor Plouffe

Twins RBI: Kurt Suzuki 2, Brian Dozier, Chris Colabello, Jason Kubel, Trevor Plouffe

The Twins and Tigers face off again on Saturday at 1:10. Phil Hughes and Anibal Sanchez are the scheduled starters.
