Here’s a forewarning if you haven’t been on Twitter today: its Bert Blyleven’s birthday today. It’s not that Bert doesn’t seem like a good guy, but that he’s had the same shtick for as long as I can remember.

Anyway, it’s the rubber match of the three game series in Cleveland. The Twins look to get Ron Gardenhire his 1001 win this afternoon, something that should have happened last year, but, ya know, 90-plus losses.  GO TWINS!

Minnesota Twins (2-3) lineup:

  1. Brian Dozier – 2B
  2. Joe Mauer -1B
  3. Josh Willingham – LF
  4. Chris Colabello – DH
  5. Trevor Plouffe – 3B
  6. Jason Kubel – RF
  7. Kurt Suzuki – C
  8. Aaron Hicks – CF
  9. Pedro Florimon – SS

Pitching for the Twins: Ricky Nolasco – RHP

Cleveland Indians (3-2) lineup:

  1. Nyjer Morgan – CF
  2. Nick Swisher – 1B
  3. Jason Kipnis – 2B
  4. Carlos Santana – 3B
  5. Michael Brantley – LF
  6. Lonnie Chisenhall – DH
  7. Yan Gomes – C
  8. David Murphy – RF
  9. Mike Aviles – SS

Pitching for the Indians: Justin Masterson – RHP

First Impressions:

  • The Indians are batting their first baseman, second baseman and third baseman consecutively and that’s pretty neat.
  • Was Gardy trolling us with him putting Suzuki in the two-hole for only that one game?
  • I bet Aaron Hicks looks at his corner outfielders and gets tired just thinking about all the ground he needs to cover.
  • Round Two of Ricky Nolasco. Let’s do this!

Game Time:

12:05 Central at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio.

Seen on Fox Sports North and heard on the Twins Radio Network.
