One team’s struggling starting pitcher is another teams unwanted starting pitcher, apparently. On Friday morning, it was reported that Vance Worley had been placed on waivers allowing the other 29 Major Leagues teams to claim him. The thing of it is that nobody did.
Vance Worley has cleared waivers & outrighted to AAA. The @Twins roster is now at 39. Also 39 players left in camp.

Vance Worley will be reporting to Triple-A Rochester to start the season which is really where he belongs. Worley clearing waivers opens up his 40-man roster spot resulting in only 39 men being on the roster currently. Some folks in camp, like Jason Kubel, are currently not on the 40-man and would need to be added to play on Opening Day.
The starting pitching picture has become much clearer today with the report of Kyle Gibson being named the fifth starter and Sam Deduno going to the bullpen.
The Minnesota Twins open up the regular season in 10 days, March 31, at the Chicago White Sox.
Worley and the Rochester Red Wings open up the 2014 campaign on April 3 against Buffalo.
