Minnesota Twins' Pedro Florimon to Miss Two Weeks

Potentially good news for Eddie 400 fans (the campaign to get Eduardo Escobar at least 400 plate appearances in 2014), projected starting shortstop Pedro Florimon will be out for two weeks after getting his appendix removed on Monday afternoon.

This surgery won’t affect the starting infield, Florimon getting the surgery now only would make him miss three-four games if he comes back in exactly 14 days. Gardenhire also gave Florimon the vote of confidence earlier on Monday.

Florimon appeared in 134 games last year for the Twins in his first full year with the club. Florimon hit .221/.281/.330 with nine homeruns, 44 RBI and 15 stolen bases in 2013.
