These week in review pieces are about to get interesting, I swear. Soon we’ll have sun-filled ball diamonds in Florida and Arizona to talk about, but for now we have minor transactions to look back at.
Speaking of Arizona, that’s where we head to first.
The Minnesota Twins have been linked to Bronson Arroyo for the duration of the offseason, but those rumors were squashed on Friday. On Friday, Arroyo signed a two-year deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks and obviously shutting the door on a possible singing with the Minnesota Twins.
Our other story of the week brings us to the world of Twitter and Charley Walters of the Pioneer Press.
On Monday, Walters tweeted out that there is no expected deal between Johan Santana and the Minnesota Twins until at least midseason. Santana went to Twitter on Friday to share with his followers that he has just began to throw off the mound.
Just want to let you guys know that I started throwing off the mound this week, and I feel great!!! One step closer!!! Believe it!!!

If Santana is eventually signed it will be a minor league deal with little chance of him making a huge impact on the major league roster. It would be fun to have him back, though. Nostalgia is fun and a huge part of getting the band back together.
