Bronson Arroyo Signs with the Arizona Diamondbacks

A super-de-duper free agent starting rotation will not be happening for the Minnesota Twins. The dream died on Friday when the Arizona Diamondbacks signed Bronson Arroyo to a two-year deal.

The Twins had been tied to the long-time Cincinnati Red hurler throughout the offseason, but nothing came to be. The Twins will be entering Spring Training with a rotation made mostly of recently signed arms.

It appears that Ricky Nolasco, Phil Hughes, Mike Pelfrey and Kevin Correia will make up the first four spots of the starting rotation with the fifth spot to be determined during the up and coming spring training.

Samuel Deduno, Scott Diamond, Anthony Swarzak and Vance Worley look to be top candidates to snatch that fifth spot in the big league rotation.

Pitchers and catchers report to Fort Myers on February 16, 2014.
