Before the Mauer news, not even a half-hour before it, it was reported by Jerry Crasnick of ESPN and Baseball America that the Twins are bringing back ol’ pal Jason Bartlett.
Jason Bartlett agrees to non-roster deal with the #twins. Will compete for a job in spring training.

Bartlett played with the Twins from 2004-2007, stating in 96 games at shortstop in 2006 and 131 in 2007. Bartlett was then traded with Matt Garza and Eduardo Morlan to the Tampa Bay Rays for Delmon Young, Brendan Harris and Jason Pridie.
Bartlett found success in Tampa, in 2008 Bartlett received American League MVP votes and he was an All-Star in 2009 where he had career highs in batting average (.320), RBI (66), home run (14) and stolen bases (30). Bartlett played another year in Tampa Bay and then was a member of the San Diego Padres in 2011 and 2012.
Jason Bartlett did not play in 2013 due to injury.
