Are you coming down from your candy high/alcohol high/recreational drug high from Halloween yet? I hope so, because it’s Friday and you, my friend, are worth it! I believe in you! Go for it! I’ll wait…

Way to go! Now that that’s done let’s go dip our lines into the pond and see what links we can come up with this week in another edition of Weekend Web Gems!

Last week on the WWG we had Brandon Warne’s top thirty something hitters the Minnesota Twins should go after and this week he published the top thirty something starting pitchers the Twins should go after. That’s over on Twinkie Town.

Couple of smaller news notes that you should know about: Joe Mauer did not win the American League Gold Glove at catcher, Salvador Perez did. Also Baseball America ranked the Twins farm system pretty darn high, check out where they finished. Both of these blurbs from 1500ESPN.

There’s nothing more sweeter than an ex-Saint Paul Saint that is now a Minnesota Twin like Mark Hamburger. Hamburger’s winter-ball season was cut short due to too much Pepsi… Yeah, gotta check this out from Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press.

David Ortiz just won the World Series and should make the Hall of Fame with help from his spectacular playoff performances, at least Thomas Boswell of the Washington Post thinks so.

La Velle E. Neal III was elected as the Baseball Writers of America’s president. Read about this cool accomplishment on the Star Tribune’s website.

Collin’s music choice of the week: Toby Keith released a new album this week, Drinks After Work,  it’s not the best album Toby has ever put out, but it’s worth a listen.
