Minnesota Twins Outright Pedro Hernandez

Vote for Pedro!

When Terry Ryan and the others in charge of the roster decisions for the Minnesota Twins cast their vote they voted to demote the left-handed Pedro Hernandez to Triple-A Rochester.

The move brings the Twins 40-man roster down to a total of 35 players, with Samuel Deduno still on the 60-Day disabled list.

The extra spots will give Terry Ryan and the front office much more flexibility in adding and subtracting from the major league roster this offseason. The extra spots no doubt makes  the signing of major league free agents a lot easier, if the Twins partake in a lot of the free agency market is yet to be seen.

The Twins acquired Hernandez in the Francisco Liriano trade two Julys ago. That transaction also brought over Eduardo Escobar to the Twins.

In 2013, Hernandez appeared in 14 games for the Twins and started 12 ballgames. He finished the year with a record of 3-3 with an ERA of 6.83 over 56.2 innings pitched and a 1.82 WHIP.

Do you feel that, everybody?! The heat? The heat from the stove. The hot stove. She’s warming up.
