Twins at Tigers Series Preview

The Detroit Tigers (13-10) and red-hot Miguel Cabrera will host the Twins for a three game series beginning at 6:08pm tonight.

Cabrera is riding a 12-game hitting streak in which he has knocked in 15 runs. He was 2-4 last night with a home run and three RBI. Cabrera has been hitless in just four of 23 games to begin the season.

The Twins won the season-opening series against the Tigers, taking two of three games. Mike Pelfrey, who starts tonight’s game, had his strongest start of the season in the rubber match of that first series, throwing 5.1 innings without allowing an earned run.

Pelfrey will face Max Scherzer, who is tied with Yu Darvish for the league lead with 13.5 K/9. Those two finished first and second, respectively, in 2012.
