Twins Moves: Arcia Up, Hendriks Down

Over the weekend, the Twins reinstated Scott Diamond from the DL and placed Wilkin Ramirez on the Paternity List. Ramirez will be away from the team for three days.

The team chose to keep lefty Pedro Hernandez in the rotation for the time being and sent Liam Hendriks to AAA Rochester. Hernandez, 24, took the roster spot of Cole De Vries when the latter was placed on the DL April 7. Hendriks, also 24, struggled in his first start, but bounced back in his second start against the Royals. Hernandez and Diamond give the Twins two lefties in the rotation.

The Star Tribune reports that Oswaldo Arcia will join the Twins today to fill Ramirez’s spot on the team for three games. One of the top hitting prospects in the Twins system, Arcia dominated at both High-A and AA last season before continuing his assault on opposing pitchers at AAA to begin 2013. Ramirez, just 21, is primarily a right fielder, but does have previous experience across the outfield.
