Hot Twins Action: Buxton’s First HR of 2013


Byron Buxton, considered by some to be the top prospect in the Twins organization, hit his first home run of the season on Friday.

It was the Cedar Rapids Kernels’ second game of the season in their first year as the Twins Low-A affiliate. They opened the season with a four-game home stand against the Beloit Snappers, who were the Twins Low-A affiliate from 2005-2012.

The Kernels won the first two games before losing Saturday night; Buxton is 5-11 with a pair of walks and two stolen bases to begin the season.
