Duensing will move to the bullpen, so you now have two solid lefty relievers. It is sorta rare to have three of them.

Reports were that the Twins offered Cuddyer 2 years $16 million and he turned it down. Other bloggers rightfully scoffed at that low figure and said it was almost insulting (given apparent value, not what he would actually be worth, mind you). There are too many teams who would seek Cuddyer (Phillies, Giants, Red Sox, and the like) and probably for 3 years.

I wouldn't mind taking a chance on Harden, I guess.

Santiago is going to be resigned by Detroit and he will want to stay there.

Revere will be the starting LF, but hopefully batting ninth.

Santiago is a free agent this offseason - he'll be available for someone, whether it's the Twins or not.

Cuddyer might not be available on a two year deal - that may be some slight wishful thinking. But $8.5M per year is a reasonable offer; Cuddyer's Type A status will probably drive down most other team's offers. I would be surprised if anyone gave him more than 3 years, $9M per year.

I agree Harden is untrustworthy healthwise, but he'll be available for a pittance, so there's little downside to signing him for a year.

I must respectfully disagree that the Twins don't need a lefty reliever. Glen Perkins was the only reliable reliever from either side last year. That said, I don't consider Lopez a vital acquisition. Any proven reliever who can be signed for $2.5M is worth considering.

As for Revere, I am about 90% sure he'll be in the Opening Day lineup at left field, barring unforseen circumstances.

Shane just lit that post up, but did not give any facts behind it, just opinion. Assuming the Twins can resign Cuddy, who plays left for our hometown heroes? Is Revere part of the Twins 2012 plans?
