Graph of the Day

Today’s graph features first baseman Justin Morneau. For all the talk about Morneau’s value to the team, his 2010 half year was his best year of his career in terms of fWAR (though, as I have said before, his UZR was inflated a bit this year, for whatever reason). In fact, his 2010 season was equal in fWAR to his 2006 MVP season. Stacked up with him are three of the better first basemen in the game (of course, Youkilis gets some credit for playing 3B, and will be a full time 3B from now on), but I think it illustrates that while he is good, he is probably overpaid.
